Cary M. Roan

Cary Mason Roan, age 77 died on August 6th 2019 in Marietta, Georgia, after a brave and valiant battle with cancer.  Cary was born in Thomasville, Georgia on January 8, 1942 to the late Carl “Toby” and Thelma Roan.  He is survived by his brother Lark Roan (Janet) and sister Suzy Singletary (Russ). His first wife Linda Roan of 44 years preceded him in death in 2007.  Cary’s current wife is Lucita Douglas of Marietta, Georgia. Cary is father to Toby Roan (Jennifer), Shannon Gini (Rob) and Ashley Dixon (Chris). Grandchildren:  Alexandra Dixon, Arden Gini, Presley Roan, Taylor Dixon and Liam Gini; and stepfather to Rob and David Douglas.

Memorial services will be on  August 13th  at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Marietta, Georgia at 4:00 pm and on August 24th at the All Saints Episcopal Church, Thomasville, Georgia at noon.  Known for always having a big smile on his face, Cary was always ready to help others.  He and Lucita were involved with missionary work at the LAMB Childrens' Home in Honduras and the family requests in lieu of flowers that donations may be made in his name to the LAMB Institute, Charleston, SC.  www.lambinstitute.org
