Dorothy Glancy

Dorothy Margaret Ralph Glancy, 77, of Dallas, GA, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Dorothy was born April 7, 1945 to Ronald Ralph and Helen Mulholland Ralph Hunter, in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. She met her husband L. Stuart Glancy, while he was serving in the U.S. Navy, stationed at Whidbey Island, Washington. They married November 20, 1965 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Dorothy worked many office jobs and was an active parent at her children’s schools. A life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dorothy held many church callings and loved to serve others. Throughout her marriage, Dorothy and her family moved several times around the country and traveled together frequently. She enjoyed creating a wide variety of crafts and teaching others how to do them as well.

Dorothy was considered a life-long learner. She loved to learn new things, whether it was meanings of words or crafts and was also considered an avid reader, having participated in many book clubs. She also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes to share with her family and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by Ronald Ralph (1985), Dorothy Richardson Ralph (1986), Emma Russell (1995), Helen Mulholland Ralph Hunter (1997), Murlin Ralph (2010), as well as many aunts and uncles including her step-father, Clarence Hunter (2016) and step-mother, Blanche Ralph (2020).

She is survived by her husband, Stu Glancy, daughter, Shauna Rossin, daughter, Margi Russell (Lee), daughter, Summer Glancy, son, Monty Glancy (Crystal), daughter, Meredith Glancy (Brian Skutle), and 14 grandchildren, Sara, Katherine, Samantha, Evan, Amber, Sydney, Mackenzie, Ethan, Ansleigh, Nolan, Jensen, Annaleigh, Adaleigh, and Maddox.

Dorothy is also survived by her sister, Mary Montoya, and brother, James Ralph as well as her sister-in-law, Natalie Ralph, and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at 2:00 pm on January 5, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4680 Hadaway Rd., Kennesaw, GA 30152. We request all of Dorothy’s loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at this time.
