Joy (Jo) Marie Zwolle

Joy (Jo) Marie Reed Zwolle, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 while peacefully sleeping at her home in Acworth, GA. She was born on June 20, 1930 in Long Beach, California to Ella Mae Reed (Lankford) and Ross Everett Reed, but was a longtime resident of Marion, Ohio. Joy and Delbert Zwolle were members of Fair Park Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio.

She is survived by sons Rick (Rachel) Weber of Issaquah, Washington and Mark (Trina) Zwolle of Dallas, Georgia; by grandchildren Casie Townsend (Zwolle) Luke Ponce, Layne Ponce, Shawn Zwolle, Brandon Saari, Natalie Stitak, Nikki Stitak, Amanda Johnson (Weber), Adam Weber, and Daniel Weber.  And by; great grandchildren Leslie Townsend, Dakota Townsend, Wyatt Townsend, Ella Weber, Malakhi Weber, and Zane Saari.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Richard E. Weber, son Scott Curtis Zwolle, daughter Nancy Stitak and husband Delbert Zwolle.

Jo was a huge fan of LA Dodgers baseball. She was also very passionate about roller figure skating and spent countless hours driving her children to and from roller skating practice and competitions.  She was very proud of having returned to school as an adult to complete her high school education at Woodrow Wilson Senior High School in Long Beach California.  Jo was always eager to go to lunch with a friend at a moment’s notice.  She was tenacious and quick witted, she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held at Fair Park Baptist Church, 940 Bermuda Drive, Marion, OH 43302 on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2 p.m.   Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. The family will be there to greet relatives and friends.

Jo was always a strong supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s in her memory.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.GeorgiaFuneralCare.com
