David Gower

David Ronald Gower, 62, passed away surrounded by family, Friday, October 22, 2021. He was born to the late Ronald Irving Gower and Peggy Watts Gower on October 2, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee. David is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Nancy Vega-Gower, his sons David “Wesley” Gower (Whitney), Richard “Jackson” Gower, granddaughters Kaylen Marie Gower, Lillian Rose Gower, and sisters Susan Owen (Buck), Claudia Bickerstaff (Andy) and Rhonda York (Roger).

Throughout David’s life, he lived in Tennessee and Georgia. As a young man, David joined the United States Marine Corps but later found his true love was in avionics. David had a successful long-standing professional career in the avionics industry for over 30 years. He spent the last 13 years of his career with Epps Aviation, at Peachtree-Dekalb Airport, as an avionics technician. David took pride in his work and after years of perfecting his craft became well known and respected as one of the senior technicians for the company. David was very intelligent and mechanically inclined. In his spare time, he enjoyed “tinkering” with projects and learning the ins and outs of how things worked.

David deeply loved his wife, Nancy, and truly enjoyed her company and the life they built together. David and Nancy spent many of their evenings together playing Wii golf or bowling, cooking together, and listening to music. David had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and cut up, especially with his sons. He loved spending time catching up on life while sitting and talking with his sons, whether it be in person or a quick conversation on the phone. In David’s eyes, nothing compared to the simple joy he found in time with his family and witnessing the accomplishments of his loved ones. He was very proud of his sons and thought the world of his two beautiful granddaughters.

David lived a simple life. Per his wishes, he will be celebrated by his closest family members at a private memorial service.
