Elvin Ray Henderson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Elvin was born on August 30, 1945 in in Barberton, OH. Son of the late Cecil Henderson and late Myra Greathouse Henderson. He moved to Corpus Christy, TX in the mid 1970's and worked in the oil fields. In 1981 Elvin , his wife and two sons moved to Cartersville, Ga. Elvin owned Henderson Construction Company for 35 years. He Loved the outdoors, camping, gold panning, fishing, and white water rafting.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane Lauro-Henderson. He leaves behind his two sons Elvin Henderson of Smryna, Ga and Matt Henderson of Cartersville, Ga.; 4 grandchildren Halee Henderson, Rayce Henderson, Skylar Henderson, Call Brownlow and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his 3 sisters, Lois Soyars, Leona Headrick, Kathy Henderson, 3 brothers, Phil Henderson, Clifford Henderson, and Cecil Henderson. Elvin was Proceeded in death by his siblings; James Henderson, and Clarence Henderson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019, 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 S. Main St., Acworth, GA 30101. The family will receive friends at the funeral before the service starting at 2 PM. After the service, the family invites their friends back to their home for a meal.
