David Brooke Hipsley

David Brooke Hipsley of Buford Georgia, passed away on November 7, 2020 at Emory Saint Joseph Hospital in Sandy Springs, Georgia, from complications brought on by coronavirus, COVID-19.  Born January 7, 1956 in Alexandria, Virginia to Mildred Maxine Hipsley (died July 2019) and Howard Brooke Hipsley (died April 1999), he lived but 64 years – the same age his father was called home.  Their reunion in heaven will be joyous, and at the same time, heart-breaking, as the devastation of this pandemic has taken far too many, too soon.  We hold fast to the fond memories we have of David, which are everlasting.

Upon graduating from Mount Vernon High School, David left Virginia for adventures in Florida, where he married Sandra Nadine Amon (currently residing in Young America, Minnesota).  Together they had two sons, Jonathan Brooke Hipsley (currently residing with his wife, Jennifer, and 2 daughters, Danika and Olivia, in Winder, Georgia), and Christopher David Hipsley (currently residing with his wife, Mandi, and their 2 children, Isabella and Keegan in Young America, Minnesota).

In 1979, David joined the Air Force, specializing in Entomology, and was a Technical Training Instructor.  After enlisting in Jacksonville, FL, he and his family spent time in Wichita Falls, TX, had an overseas tour in Okinawa, Japan, and then Barksdale, LA.  After eleven years, David was ready to move on, putting the skills he learned in the Air Force to play in the commercial sector, with Rollins, Inc., in Sanford, FL.  David excelled in developing on-line training courses for Rollins, and climbed the ladder to become the Manager of the company’s corporate Learning Management System, ultimately relocating to Atlanta, GA.

As he neared retirement, David bought an RV, and he and his partner and travelling companion, Jamie Marie Ballon (residing in Buford, GA), planned to tour the country with their two dogs, Daisy and Snickers.  His dreams of seeing this beautiful country, which he loved dearly, will not be fulfilled – not, at least, as he planned; his view of it now will sadly be from a very different perspective.

In addition to those noted above, David also leaves behind two younger sisters, Cathy Lane Musselman (residing in Durand, IL) and Terry Lynn Watson (residing in Lorton, VA).

Due to the current pandemic and constraints with travel and social gatherings, the family has opted against a memorial service, to ensure the safety and health of all family members and friends.  Please keep David’s loved ones in your prayers as they adjust to this very unexpected loss.  May David’s memory live on in our hearts forever.

David’s care has been placed in the trust of Georgia Funeral Care & Cremation Services, 4671 S. Main St., Ackworth, GA, http://www.georgiafuneralcare.com
