Rev. Kenneth Eugene Chastain

Rev. Kenneth Eugene Chastain, age 77, of Hwy 61, Cartersville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Kenneth Chastain also known as “Red” too many was born April 19, 1942 in Cherokee County, Georgia. Kenneth was the son of the late Ernest Chastain and Claudia Mason Chastain. He was a Carpenter by trade for over 30 years and worked hard to provide for his wife and three children. Kenneth was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for many years where he gave his heart to the Lord and began to serve. He gave his calling to preach while a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and began his journey of spreading the Gospel. He traveled with his Family Preaching, Singing and Pastoring for many years. Kenneth was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where he attended until he became disabled and unable to attend. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Those that met him once would never be the same. 

He was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife Hazel Knox Chastain; sister; Margret Chastain also by Brothers Howard Chastain, Roy Chastain, Robert Chastain, and Billy Joe Chastain. Survivors include daughters; Wanda Chastain Henderson and Sandra Chastain Worley; son; Rev. Bayron Eugene Chastain; sons-in-law; Perry Worley and David Henderson; daughter-in-law; Lea Chastain; 15 grandchildren he loved dearly; Megan Worley, Zachary Worley, Dakota “Cody” Martin, Craig Keever, Nikki Keever, Hannah Henderson, Halie Chupp, David Henderson Jr. Amberly Lucas, Jalesa Gossett, Heaven Henderson, Brandy Owen, Jake Owen, Tommy Clay, and Kaitlyn Chastain; 6 great grandchildren; Grayson McKee, Benjamin Chupp, Samson Henderson, Chelsey Lucas, Megan Lucas and Phoenix Keever; sister; Elaine Vincent; brothers; Leon Chastain and Troy Chastain; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends for a viewing on Friday, December 13, 2019, from 6-9 PM and Saturday, December 14, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 312 Burnt Hickory Rd., Cartersville, GA.  The funeral will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM, also at Oak Grove Baptist Church.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.GeorgiaFuneralCare.com
