Sally Marston

On Friday, February 28th, 2020, Sally Marston took her last breath on earth and went to be with Jesus at 10:22 am after living a very full 92 years. She was a dedicated daughter, sibling, wife and a stay at home mother who raised two children, Bill & Judy. She loved Jesus and being part of the local church. If she saw an opportunity, she was very quick to share Scripture that addressed whatever challenge she or others may be facing. Sally loved being with her family anytime she could be with them and especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. When she had family in her home, she would often share family stories that went back over 100 years. Sally loved her dogs and the comfort and companionship they provided her. She was an avid outdoor lover and especially enjoyed taking long mountain hikes and sharing picnics with friends and family. You knew it was a good day for her if she spotted some lilacs in full bloom. And if the television was ever turned on, she usually was tuned into her favorite network, Fox News.

Although she actually didn’t have a relationship with Jesus until later in her adult life when she was an empty nester, her choice to follow him at that time has had a multigenerational impact that influenced her husband, two children, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and their spouses, and her nine great-grandchildren who currently range in age from eight to nineteen. Sally was the catalyst for her family’s faith and she leaves a tremendous legacy of faith. We are grateful for her and the choice she made years ago to put her trust in Christ alone as her Savior!

Her death is a reminder that time is fleeting and we need to make the most of today by loving others. If she were able to come back today she would encourage us with the truth of what Moses wrote in Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom,” and the truth of what John recorded Jesus saying in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Our family’s hope for everyone reading this is that they would put these words into action by making the most of the time they have now and to put their trust in Christ alone for their eternity.

Thank you for taking the time to read this tribute! In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to Sally’s church, Mountain View Community Church in Jasper, Georgia. We would love for you to share the stories of how Sally impacted your life on this website.

A memorial servicewill be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020, 12:00 PM, in the chapel of GeorgiaFuneral Care, Acworth, GA.  The family will receive friends prior to theservice for a visitation starting at 11:00 AM.
