Sara Louise Popham

Sara Louise Popham, a loving mother, and grandmother, and life-long resident of Georgia, died suddenly in a tragic automobile accident on July 24, 2021, at the age of 68.

Sara is survived by her loyal chihuahua, Sugar, her children, Brian Hearn (Erin), Jennifer Lowe (Lamar). Her grandchildren, Kyndal Thomason (Nathan), David Lowe, and Riannae Lowe. Her very special best friend Kathy Brown. Her sisters, Ellen Whitehead, Ann Carden, Marcia Stewart, Dorothy Ross (David), Patty Klitzing (Jeff). Several nieces and nephews and multiple friends. She is predeceased by her mother Ruth Lillian Hoisington Popham, her father Earl Pollard Popham.

Sara was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 20, 1952, to Ruth and Earl Popham. She obtained her GED in 1980. She worked as a clerk for the Cobb County police department until she retired in 1999. She moved to Oklahoma with her then-husband, Lee, and ran a farm. She enjoyed taking care of the animals.

Sara loved to crochet and made many blankets over the years. She especially enjoyed crocheting baby blankets. She also enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles and loved to go on long rides. She enjoyed the beach, particularly Florida beaches. She enjoyed collecting stuffed animals and angels. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing Christmas cactus’. She was very fond of her plants. She had a green thumb and could make anything grown. She was an avid oldies fan; her favorite song was Jailhouse Rock. Sara loved her family above all; she loved her grandchildren and took pride in her namesake, Sara Rianne Lowe. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 2 at the New Beginnings Baptist Church. Reverend Michael Matthews will officiate. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at 205 Colonel Way, White, GA. 30184.
