Tommy was born May 15th, 1930. He died in his home on June 20th, 2022 after an extended illness. He lived in Bartow Co. all his life. He was a veteran and served during the Korean war. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Posey, mother Cora Cox Posey, daughter Vickie Abernathy, brothers J.T. Posey, Dillard Posey, Claude Posey, and William (Bill) Posey, 2 grandsons Shane Abernathy and Andrew Posey. He is survived by 2 children Ronnie (Darlene) Posey, Deborah (Jim) Moon, and son-in-law Barry Abernathy Grandchildren Lamar Abernathy, Toby Abernathy, Rhonda Bates, David Sharpe, Amanda Sharpe, Brandy (Posey) Sloan, and Ryan Posey, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, June 23rd from 6 to 8 pm at Georgia Funeral Care in Acworth Ga. A funeral service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Emerson Ga. on Friday, June 24th at 2 pm. he will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 pm. Pastor Danny Willis and Charles Hudson will be officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cartersville Ga. There will be a visitation on Thursday, June 23, 6-8 PM, at Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 S. Main St. Acworth, Ga 30101.
