Rudolph S. Williams passed away Thursday morning at 8:35am. “Rudy” was known by most who shopped at the grocery stores bearing his name in the Greater Rome area. Rudy is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Shirley L. Williams, his daughter Teresa Rose, his son Rickey S. Williams, four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served four tours in Korea on the USS Saint Paul (CA-73). Visitation for family and friends will be in The Chapel at Cornerstone Church in Rome, GA on Monday, April 30th at 6pm. Graveside Services will be held with Military Honors at Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 1st at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to The Gary Sinise Foundation (www.garysinisefoundation.org).

I used to work for him rendering care where needed as he gracefully aged and couldn't do for himself as much. He and ms. Shirley were great to me. He will be missed. Sorry for your loss. Reply to this comment

I remember Rudy from his store on Dean Street. I was thinking of him recently as my annivesary is in April. We bought our kitchen table from him on our first anniversary in 1974. We still have the table in our kitchen today. Reply to this comment

Thank you Brenda :) Most people don’t realize the Pick o deli was once a grocery store. I still remember it as a kid. By the way, if you ever decide to sell the table let us know :) Blessings, Jody
