Anna Jane Bergwall

Anna Jane Bullock Bergwall (1946-2024)

Anna Jane Bergwall, age 77, of Kennesaw, GA passed away peacefully at home on March 15, 2024, after a courageous battle with a brief illness.

Born in Columbus, OH, Jane spent her early years in Marysville, OH and Colorado Springs, CO following her father’s career with the Nestlé Corporation. Her family then moved to Elmsford, NY where she graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in 1964.

Pursuing her passion for learning, Jane graduated from Valparaiso University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and minor in Biology. While attending Valparaiso in Indiana, Jane met her match, Donald Bergwall, where they married upon graduation in 1968. They began their married life together in Saginaw, MI where their two sons were born.

After six years of living in Decatur, AL, Don and Jane returned to Saginaw, MI where Jane worked as the Office Manager and Secretary of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She and Don retired to Marysville, OH in 2002 to be closer to Jane’s family.

In 2010, Don and Jane relocated to Kennesaw, GA to spend more time with their beloved grandchildren. Throughout her life, Jane enjoyed staying active with her church, family, and community.

She loved attending Bible studies, fitness classes, walking the neighborhood, volunteering, and gardening. Jane was an infinite source of care and compassion for those she knew. She kept her mind sharp by reading and doing various puzzles. In August 2023, Don and Jane celebrated 55 years of marriage on a family cruise to Alaska.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Matilda Ell Bullock, and her sister Barbara Bullock Graebe. Jane is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Don Bergwall; her sons, Craig (Katherine) Bergwall of Marietta, GA, and Kent Bergwall (Van Onishi) of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Chris (Jennifer) Bergwall of Marietta, GA, and Caroline Bergwall of Brooklyn, NY; brother-in-law Harry (Elaine) Bergwall of White, GA; nephews Brian (Shelia) Bergwall of Atlanta, GA and Rick (Ivonne and children Eva and Daniel) Graebe of Sugar Land, TX.

She also leaves many other dear and loving family members, Godchildren, and friends who blessed her life in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Texas, and Georgia, especially her Savior of All Lutheran Church family. A celebration of life will be held at Savior of All Lutheran Church, 35 Indian Trail SE, Cartersville, GA on April 6, 2024, 12:00 PM, followed by a luncheon.

A service and burial will take place in Marysville, OH on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Savior of All Lutheran Church in memory of Jane Bergwall or Advocates for Children https://advochild.org
