Irene Louise Campbell, age 83, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Irene is survived by her children Henry (Ilaine) Campbell, David (Deby) Campbell, Robert (Elizabeth) Campbell, grandchildren Gina Moore, Ian Campbell, Emily Campbell, Brittany Bashore, great-grandchildren, Cali Campbell, and Kaleb Campbell, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2011, her parents Henry and Alice Colderley, and her sister Jacquelin Hall.
Irene was born in Ontario, Canada, and immigrated to the United States with her parents as a teenager. She was a proud Navy wife who raised three boys while her husband was often deployed overseas. They moved around frequently as part of Navy life, spent several years in Alaska, and were able to finally settle and build a life in San Diego. After Charles (Chuck) passed away, Irene moved to Atlanta where she spent her final years. Irene was very crafty, amazing with a crochet hook, was kind to everyone she met and has many lifelong friends.
Services to celebrate Irene’s life and the family she and Chuck created will be held at a future date in the spring in San Diego where Chuck is interned. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
