Michael Carlyle Braddock

Mr. Michael Carlyle Braddock, age 81, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria Braddock, his children Michael B. Braddock (married to Cindy Braddock), Deanna Rechsteiner (married to Steve Rechsteiner), and Cheryl Nordin, his grandchildren Carter Rechsteiner, Carlyle Rechsteiner, Cayden Rechsteiner, Hunter Nordin, Shaughn Braddock, Avery Nordin, Harmon Braddock and Addeline Braddock, his brother Billy Braddock (married to Jane Braddock), and many others who had the privilege of calling him family and friend.

Mike was born on August 21st, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the second born to Park T. and Janet Braddock. Mike’s family moved to Miami, Florida where he served in the United States Air Force and then married the love of his life in January 1965. Together they raised a family in South Florida while Mike worked in several divisions at BellSouth. In 1990, Mike and Gloria moved to Acworth, Georgia where Mike retired from BellSouth in 2000.

Mike enjoyed hiking parts of the Appalachian trail, kayaking, camping, fishing, but most enjoyed spending time with his family. Mike was always present, grilling and eating watermelon with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories and advice, attending Boy Scout and ROTC events, or cheering from the sidelines at soccer games, baseball games, football games, track meets and cheerleading competitions. In 2022, Mike and Gloria moved to their final home together in White, Georgia where Mike spent his last days surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Mike was a faithful member at the Grove Church in Acworth, Georgia. Mike spent his life honoring Jesus, loving his family well all while pointing others to follow the will of God. He left us too soon, but with an incredible legacy of faithfulness and love for his Savior and his family.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 27th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at The Grove Church 1605 Mars Hills Road, Acworth, Georgia 30101, with Pastor Dallas White officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at The Grove Church Friday, October 27th, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Grove Church- Hope for Christmas.
