Phoebe Hickman

Phoebe Silantoi Hickman was the first born to Grace Mututua and the late Benjamin Mututua. She was born on August 23, 1968 in Ngong, Kenya. Phoebe devoted her life to her husband and children. She had a heart of gold and loved taking care of everyone. Her spirit would always light up the room no matter where she was. She is survived by her husband John T. Hickman, three beautiful daughters, Feneitz Somoina, Aiyah Hickman and Amina Hickman. She was sister to Gideon Kishoiyan Jonathan Mututua, Faith Serian, and Lucy Sintamei. She also survived by her father in law John H. Hickman and Sister in law Jalica Hickman. Phoebe started her elementary education at Kerarapon primary school and high school at AIC girls Kajiado. Thereafter she joined government secretarial college in Nairobi.

She was a member of PCEA Kerarapon where she was baptized. Thereafter, she moved to PCEA Enchoro Emuny church Ngong. She was a member of The Christ Harvesters church before she joined her husband at The Factory church in Woodstock, GA. While in Kenya she worked for National Youth Service (NYS) and later ministry of commerce and industry. In 1998 she was a victim of the Nairobi bomb blast where she was bruised and underwent multiple reconstructive surgeries. She came to the United States in 2001. She worked for Vitas Hospice for many years doing what she loved which is helping others. In 2016, she completed one of her life long dreams. She opened up Sila’s Salon. It will remain open in her memory. Phoebe travelled to Kenya for Christmas in December 4th 2017. While travelling back she complained of shortness of breath. Upon arrival, she was admitted at Kennestone hospital. She departed to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 after a short illness. Rest in Peace our beloved sister !!! Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, 2 PM, in the True North Building of North Star Church, Blue Springs Rd, Kennesaw, GA.  The family will receive friends at 1 PM at the church.  Condolences can be left below.
