William Alexander Chase, Jr. (Bill), age 75, passed away at his Marietta home on Monday, August 20, 2018 surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Chicago, IL to William and Elizabeth Chase, Sr. After graduating from Seneca High school in 1961, he attended Clemson University, graduating in 1965 with a bachelor’s degree in History. His love of history continued throughout his life as well as his love for the Clemson Tigers. Bill proudly served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Genuine Parts Company for more than 40 years until his retirement in 2008. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, dad, “Poppy”, brother and uncle.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents of Seneca, SC. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maggie (Deal) Chase; son Bill Chase and his wife Bethanne, grandchildren Nikki, Will and Faith; son Jeff Chase; son Tom Chase and his wife Amber, grandchildren Philip, Caroline and Matthew; daughter Jane Chase Sungail; son-in-law Scott Sungail; brothers Jim Chase and John Chase and their families.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
Memorial donations may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, JDRF, or Special Olympics of GA.
Bill was deeply loved and respected by his family and will be greatly missed.
