James Travis Clayton

James Travis Clayton, age 73, of Rome, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016.

James was born in Fulton County on August 4, 1943, son of Inez and Edward Clayton. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-made business man. He was a member of Canaanland Baptist Church. James is Survived by his wife of 45 years, Deanna Kaye Munger Clayton; two sons, Jimmy Timms and James Travis Clayton, IV; three daughters, Tonia Clayton, Jada Page, and Kristina Clayton; five grandchildren, Brandy, Brandon, Amber, Jeffeory, and Jayla; and 8 great-grandchildren.


Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2016, from 2:00-3:00pm at Canaanland Baptist Church, 1651 Calhoun Road, Rome, Georgia 30161. The Clayton family will receive friends and family from 12:00-2:00pm, prior to the service.
