Adan Abreu

Adan Abreu was born on January 26, 1940, to Faustino Abreu Hernández and Juana Ruiz Baños in La Habana, Cuba specifically Santiago de Las Vegas the farm called “El Navio”. He passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022, at his residence in Hampton, Georgia in the evening at the age of 82.

Adan was proceeded in death by his wife Agueda Angela Abreu, his Father Faustino Abreu Hernandez, mother Juana Ruiz Baños, his sister Cristina Abreu Ruiz her husband Pablo Dominguez Cruz and his nephew Faustino Dominguez, his brother Ruebén Abreu Ruiz and his nephew Adalberto Domínguez Abreu.

Some of his accomplishments was to arrive in the United States in April 1980 and to become a United States citizen in 1995. During the years he loved photography and enjoyed oil painting and drawing as it a great hobby for him. Reynolds Nature Preserve in Forest Park, Georgia has one of his paintings displayed. He really became an avid traveler.  His biggest love was gardening whether it was crops or beautiful flowers. He was a part of the American Hemerocallis Society AHS, South Atlanta Daylily Society S.A.D.S, Arts Clayton, and Clayton Historical Society.

Survivors include his daughter Belkis and husband Eduardo Suarez, grandchildren Eduardo (Eduardito), Yadira and husband Alexander Vegas Reyes, son Vladimir Abreu and wife Maribel Otaño, granddaughter Katia, son Ivan Abreu and wife Anaibis, grandson Ivan (Ivansito), son Pavel Rodriguez and daughter law Paula Rodriguez, granddaughter Tara, son Carlos Rodriguez wife Julissa Rodriguez, Laurie Rodriguez mother of grandsons Emilio and Ricardo, Daughter Janet and husband Ronnie Gamble, Artis Ward Jr. father of grandchildren Aiden and Angelina, including four great grandchildren including four surviving sibling and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial service with family will be held on Saturday, 10 December 2022, at 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 605 Maddox Road, Griffin GA.
