Anna Hartwig

July 9, 1939 — July 7, 2025

Acworth, GA

Anna Hartwig, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, 2025, at her home in Acworth, Georgia.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Oswald, brother Joseph Oswald and daughter Una Hartwig. Anna is survived by her husband Friedrich, her son Randall Hartwig, and daughter Ute Hartwig as well as her sisters Olga Archie, Sophie Kronseder, and sister Rosemarie and her spouse Josef Zarham and many nephews and nieces.

She was born on July 9, 1939 in Forstwald, Germany to Joseph and Anna Oswald. She grew up in Schoenanger, Germany until she moved to Munich. While living and working in Munich, she met her husband, Friedrich, who was in the US military at the time. They married in September of 1962 and so began her journey as an army wife. She endured many moves during this time but finally settled in Acworth.

Anna was always a tireless worker and could never sit still. She never hesitated to get done whatever needed to get done. Housework, yard work, working at her job, taking care of family, she was always working.

Anna usually spent her leisure time sewing, crocheting or cross-stitching. What brought her the most joy and comfort, though, was to work outside in her flowerbeds and yard. She could spend hours working in her yard.
