Carl Dennis Trimble Mason

February 10, 1949 — April 25, 2025

Atlanta, GA

Mr. Carl Dennis Trimble Mason was born in Scotts Crossing Community of Atlanta, Georgia on February 10, 1949, to Odessa Trimble and Bennie Barnes. His mother later married Robert Mason, who adopted him as his son.  He attended Scott Elementary School and graduated from S. H. Archer High School. At eighteen in 1967, he joined the United States Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam in service to his country. When he returned from the war in 1971, he was employed with GA Power Company and left there as a Lineman. He decided to go back to work at North American Van Lines as a Dispatcher in Logistics for a while then on to Southeast  Trans in Customer Service before really Retiring.

He accepted Christ at a very young age and served the Lord throughout the years. He joined Shady Grove Baptist Church in 1984, where he was ordained as a Deacon in 1994. He has been dedicated and faithful to that role since then. He also was a Member of the Masonic Order for many years. He was a positive thinking man with many talents and skills. He served as PTA President at S. H. Archer H.S. and was a role model to many of the students there. He was a friendly, intelligent, kind, and knowledgeable man and very direct in his conversation. He had a great sense of humor and loved to watch documentaries and a master in most games. He was a bible scholar and loved the Lord. He has helped and touched a lot of people during his walk on this journey.

This soldier fought the good fight and now his last command was to march into Heaven on April 25, 2025, at the age of seventy-six years old. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Odessa Mason, Bennie Barnes, his biological father; brothers: Clarence Mason, Michael Adams, and Phillip Prince; sisters: Eristine Mason, and Nora Jean Williams.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Peterson Mason, his daughters, Dericka Webster-Odiegwu (Sam), Antonia Mason-Astin, and Melissa Henderson; Also survived by his siblings: Limweechie Mayson White (Ken), Wanda Mason Render (Bobby) and Alethea Griffin (Bernard), He also leaves to mourn a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, god children, a special aunt, Rev. Betty Barnes, special cousin Serethia Brantley and many great friends.

There will be a visitation starting at 10:00AM Saturday May 10, 2025 from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be held Monday May 12. 2025 at 10:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA
