Chris Robert Savage of Marietta, Georgia, was born on May 29, 1951, and on October 24, 2025, he passed away peacefully following a long fight with cancer.
Chris was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia. He was also proud of his 37-year career at Lockheed Martin. As his family and friends know too well, Chris liked to stay busy, and in the years following his retirement, Chris lived the retired life with great enthusiasm! He loved spending time with his wife, Cindi, traveling to the lake and to the mountains, water skiing, snow skiing, and riding his motorcycle in Panama City with his Lockheed buddies. He also loved cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs to two National Championships and bragging about his grandchildren.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Virlyn Smith Savage, and his father, Robert Savage. Left to miss him until we see each other again are his beloved wife, Cindi Wills Savage; his daughters, Heather Courtney (Justin) and Meredith McLeod (Kyle); his stepsons, Tyler Parris (Terri), Will Parris (Kayla), and Hunter Parris; and his grandchildren, John and Maggie Courtney, Betsy and Graham McLeod, Ramey Parris, and Hope and Hadley Parris. Chris also leaves behind his sister, Gloria Savage, and many beloved cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Parin Chheda, Dr. Suku George, Dr. Walid Shaib, the oncology nurses at Kennestone Hospital, and the staff at Wellstar Hospice for their compassionate care of Chris prior to his passing.
Arrangements will be taken care of by Georgia Funeral Care in Acworth, Ga. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Marietta, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Marietta.
