With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the years we shared, we remember the life of David Lee Nelson, who passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Acworth, Georgia. Born on December 28, 1973, David lit up every room he entered and left an enduring mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

David’s journey was one threaded with laughter, fierce love, and ceaseless generosity. His immense heart touched so many, not just within his family but throughout every neighborhood he called home. There was never a stranger near David—only friends he hadn’t met yet. His laughter broke through the hardest days, and his infectious smile could lift even the heaviest spirits. “He would give you the shirt off of his back, literally,” said his daughter Amber, a reflection of his boundless kindness and caring nature.

David is survived by those who brought him his greatest joy: his children, Anthony Nelson, Joshua Nelson, and Amber Nelson, each of whom carries memories of their father’s unwavering encouragement. He was their staunchest supporter, always reminding them how proud he was and believing in their brightest futures. His legacy of loyalty and love lives on in his cherished grandchildren, Liam and Layla, with whom he shared many treasured moments.

The family David built and loved so fiercely expanded far beyond his immediate household. He is remembered deeply by his mother, Linda Jimenez-Broesche; his sisters, Charlene Ryan, Nilsa Keon, Frances Jessup, Tina Reynolds, and Bobbie Nelson; and his brother, Manuel Jimenez. His love for his nieces and nephews was legendary—spending time with them was among his favorite joys. The circle of his heart extended even wider to include all his extended family and friends and those whose lives he touched, including Charles Crider. Though he mourned the loss of his step-father, Louis Jimenez-Vinas, in his lifetime, the bonds of family and memory endured in his heart.

Professionally, David excelled as a master plumber for over 20 years. He took immense pride in his craft, earning the admiration and respect of colleagues and customers alike—there was truly nothing he couldn’t do. His biggest accomplishment, however, wasn’t just found in his work, but in the way he so willingly shared his skills. He found great joy in teaching others, especially his children and Amber remembers vividly the afternoon he taught her how to replace the serpentine belt on her car—a simple task made unforgettable by the patience and confidence he instilled. In his neighborhood, he was the one everyone trusted to fix a car or lend a hand; his servant’s heart was truly the source of his greatest joy.

David’s love for life was as boundless as his laughter. He was a true outdoorsman, always at home under open skies and never content to be cooped up inside. Whether it was fishing, racing RC cars and drones, or zipping across the water on jet skis—anything fast ignited his spirit. He brought this same energy to every corner of the neighborhood, eager to meet each new face, and always up to date on the latest happenings—if you wanted to know the local news, you simply “asked David.”

His patriotism was clear to all who knew him; he loved his country deeply. But perhaps what set him apart most was his unwavering mission to make those around him smile. If his mission wasn’t complete until he had met every neighbor, then surely his greatest legacy lies in the happiness he brought to so many. He found true purpose in helping others, always putting friends, family, and neighbors first.

A viewing to honor David’s life will be held on August 15, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 S. Main Street, Acworth, GA 30101. Family and friends are invited to gather, celebrate, and remember a remarkable life lived with selfless love and tireless generosity.
