Debra Brand

Debra Lynn Brand of Cartersville, Georgia, age 62, passed on the morning of August 13th peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.  At her request, no official services will be held although a gathering of family members is planned in her honor.

Debra was born in 1956 in Rockmart Georgia, the daughter of Evelyn Josephine Griffin and Lawrence Prater.

Mrs. Brand is survived by her husband of 22 years Bill Brand; two children (Shane Ledbetter and Julie Ledbetter), four grandchildren (Austin Ledbetter, Cody Ledbetter, Mason Umbarger and Charlotte Newberry), and three siblings (David Prater, Kenneth Griffin and Patsy Hixson).

Debra was a retired law enforcement officer, having served 20+ years with both the Bartow County Sheriff’s Department and Paulding County Sheriff’s Department.  She served The Lord, her own family and the public with honor, distinction and unwavering thoughtfulness.
