Garland Gerald (Jerry) Hobbs born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 13, 1941, passed away on July 5, 2023. Jerry graduated from West Fulton High School in Atlanta in 1959. He later graduated from Southern Technical Institute.

Early in his career he was a partner of Hobbs, Moore, & Simpkins Insurance in East Point, Georgia. In later years he became partner and co-owner or The Insurance Store in Marietta, Georgia, retiring in 2006 to pursue his many hobbies.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his son and grandsons as well as his friends. He especially enjoyed his weekly golf game with his boyhood friends, some of whom he has known since the first grade. He loved traveling both domestically and abroad with family and friends and was always planning his next trip!

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Gayle Parker Hobbs, daughter Holli Hobbs, son Todd Hobbs and his wife Jana. Grandson Parker Hobbs, grandson Carter Hobbs and his wife Victoria and their daughter Charlotte who is Jerry’s first great-grandchild. Two sisters Carol Hobbs Hope and her husband Danny, and Judy Hobbs Osborne and multiple brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Garland Smith Hobbs and Connie Boggs Hobbs and nephew Timothy Brackett.

He was cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
