Geraldine (Dena) Barbara Dover, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at her home in Cartersville, Georgia. Born on October 1, 1947, in Cartersville, she was a lifelong resident of the community she cherished.

Dena’s early years were marked by her education at the old Cloverleaf School, where her formative experiences helped shape a character defined by love, faith, and resilience. Throughout her life, she was a loving person who maintained a deep love for the Lord, balancing a thoughtful nature with a sense of humor and a determined stubbornness that endeared her to many.

Her career spanned several years working in various carpet mills, where she dedicated herself diligently, contributing to the local industry. Beyond her professional life, Dena found joy and connection through her hobbies, which included embracing social media platforms such as Facebook, and enjoying the beloved television show Days of Our Lives.

Family was the cornerstone of Dena’s life. Her memories are warmly tinged with playful mischief, often recalling the times when she and her sister Shelty Whitener found themselves labeled "trouble #1" and "trouble #2." She was immensely proud of her ability to get straight to the point when explaining matters—a reflection of her straightforward and sincere approach to life.

She is survived by her devoted sister, Shelty Whitener, and nephews Johnny Wilson and Morris Whitener. Dena’s legacy continues through her seven cherished grandchildren: Hope Churchwell ( Jeremy), Kevin Burnett ( Kimberly), Jeffrey Dover, Josh Dover ( Alex), Dustin Dover (Nikki), Jamie Dover, and Willie Dover. She is also survived by two stepchildren, Pam Hoffman and Greg Dover, special friend Amanda Mote and numerous great-grandchildren who carry forward her memory with love.

Dena was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lolan Sparks and Mary Mulkey; her sons, Dewayne and Daryl Dover; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. Their memories remain deeply treasured in the hearts of all who loved her.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM from Creekside Fellowship Church, 585 Old Alabama Road  Cartersville, GA 30120 with Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm till the funeral hour at 2pm. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cartersville GA.

Geraldine Barbara Dover’s life was one of devotion—to family, faith, and community. Her loving spirit, thoughtful nature, and warm personality will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy is one of steadfast love and a joyful embrace of life, remembered respectfully and with enduring affection.
