Gloria Jean Braddock

December 31, 1946 — November 26, 2024

Mrs. Gloria Jean Braddock, age 77, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Carlyle Braddock and loving mother of Michael B. Braddock, Deanna Rechsteiner and Cheryl Nordin.  Gloria was born on December 31st, 1946, in Miami, Florida. She was the eldest of five children born to Robert Nelms and Betty Jean Phillips. Gloria was 14 when she met the love of her life, Mike, and they married in January 1965. Together they raised a family in South Florida where Gloria devoted herself to her home and family. Mike and Gloria relocated to Acworth, Georgia in 1990. Gloria enjoyed bird watching, reading, scrapbooking, camping and beach trips but most cherished spending time with family. Gloria was always present, hosting her family, serving their favorite meals, sharing recipes, stories and advice. Many of her favorite days were spent attending Boy Scout and ROTC events, or cheering from the sidelines at soccer games, baseball games, football games, track meets and cheerleading competitions. In 2022, Mike and Gloria moved to their final home together in White, Georgia where Gloria spent her last days surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Gloria was a faithful member at the Grove Church in Acworth, Georgia. She spent her life honoring Jesus, loving her family well all while pointing others to follow the will of God. She left us too soon, but with an incredible legacy of faithfulness and love for her Savior and her family.  Gloria is survived by her children Michael B. Braddock (married to Cindy Braddock), Deanna Rechsteiner (married to Steve Rechsteiner), and Cheryl Nordin, her grandchildren Carter Rechsteiner, Carlyle Rechsteiner Dotson (married to Derek Dotson), Cayden Rechsteiner, Hunter Nordin, Shaughn Braddock, Avery Nordin, Harmon Braddock and Addeline Braddock; her siblings Virginia Collier, Robert Phillips and Patricia Ohl and many others who had the privilege of calling her family and friend.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The Grove Church 1605  Mars Hill Road, Acworth, Georgia 30101, with Pastor Dallas White officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at The Grove Church Monday,  December 2nd, 2024.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Grove Church- GroveCare.
