Ronald R. “Zeke” Zukowski, 72, of Atlanta, GA, died Sunday, December 19, 2021, in Douglasville, GA.

Mr. Zukowski was born in Atlanta in 1949, the son of the late Raymond F. and Clara Zukowski.  He retired after a retail career with B. Dalton, later Barnes and Noble, as a senior bookseller and software store manager.  He was a devout Catholic and served as Cantor, Lay Reader, and Acolyte at St. Hilda's Anglican Catholic Church.

Mr. Zukowski was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Atlanta. He received a BA in Journalism from Georgia State University where he was a member of the Newman Club.  He was a US Army Vietnam-era Veteran, achieving the rank of Captain in the Signal Corps and serving as a Range Officer at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Georgia.

He served as Co-Chair of ConFederation, World of Science Fiction Convention (1986), attended DragonCon conventions, was a member of the Atlanta Radio Theater Company, and was a published science fiction author.  In 2014, he received the annual Hank Reinhardt Fan Award for his leadership in Science Fiction activities.  He was witty and well-read.  Friends enjoyed his kindness and interesting conversations.   He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 14, 2022, at St. Hilda's Anglican Catholic Church in Atlanta at 10:30 AM, with a visitation starting prior to the service at 9:30 AM at the church.  Mr. Zukowski will be laid to rest with Military Honors following a 2:00 PM graveside service at the Georgia National Cemetery.
