John Wimberly was born on February 22, 1956 in Natchez, Ms. to Rod & Juanita Wimberly. After graduating from South Natchez High School in 1974, he went on to attend Mississippi State University. John worked for Armstrong Tire & Rubber company for approximately 8 years. He then joined International Paper Co. in Natchez, where he worked for 16 years before transferring to the Rieglewood NC facility. He completed a total of 30 years with international Paper Co. John’s work ethic was impeccable as he believed in providing for his family. This work ethic was instilled in his sons. He loved riding his Harley, and he was blessed with his riding “2nd family” to make trips to Sturgis, Niagra Falls, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. John also had a love of music and enjoyed his record collection and his trips to concerts. He loved to watch MSU football and baseball. When he could not ride his Harley anymore, he started collecting coins to leave for his grandchildren. John accepted Christ on June 26, 2026. He was baptized on August 1, 2026 by his sons, Jason & Brian. John leaves behind his wife: Margaret Delaney Wimberly of Acworth, Ga. Two sons: Jason (wife Charity) of Canton, Ga. Brian (wife Brynn) of Woodstock, Ga. Adopted daughter: Nola Wimberly of Acworth, Ga. Grandchildren whom he loved immensely: London, Madison, Dalton and Canon Wimberly. Preceded in death by: Parents, Rod & Juanita Wimberly. Sister, Helen Cross Rodriquez; Nephew, Shannon Daniels. In-laws, James & Ruth Delaney. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Summit Baptist church, 4310 Moon Station Lane, Acworth, Ga. 30101. Dr. James Slick presiding over the service. Visitation will be at 11:00am with the service at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Toys for Tots or a Parkinson Foundation of your choice.
