Jonnette Ruth (Ruthie) Book

Jonnette Ruth Eitel Book, of Roswell, Georgia, affectionately known as Ruthie, went to be with Jesus on  Sunday, July 10, 2022, at age 57, after having dealt with cancer for 10 years. She was surrounded by family and loved ones.

Ruthie was born on July 8, 1965. She spent most of her childhood in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She graduated high school from Natchitoches Central in 1983. She went on to major in Interior Design and pledged Sigma Kappa at Northwestern State University.

Post-graduation, Ruthie went on to be a full-time mother for many years and briefly returned to school to work on a Master's in Education at the University of Phoenix. She used that experience to educate her children from home for their younger school years. Later, she went on to pursue a career at Georgia  Tech in administration. She had a passion for her work and her co-workers. This past spring, she received the College’s Outstanding Team Member Award. With a creative and free spirit, Ruthie loved the arts and actively pursued photography. She spent her free time fly-fishing, hiking, painting, and crafting. She loved volunteering to serve and help others through her local church. Ruthie pursued opportunities to counsel and support others through Stephen's Ministry training. She truly had a knack for giving gifts and making others feel special.

Ruthie was a lover of Jesus, nature, photography, laughing, scrapbooking, cardinals, K-dramas, and vibrant colors among many other things. She was so mindful of her health, documented nearly everything, and kept a very lively well-decorated home. She was passionate about her family and those closest to her. Ruthie was truly exceptional at celebrating moments and capturing memories in the most beautiful ways. You could not find a more thoughtful and generous daughter, sister, friend, and most of all, mother. Her greatest joy was caring for and loving her three children. Ruthie treasured life and was resilient at loving and living life despite her pain. She truly is and will remain an inspiration to those who were blessed to have known and loved her. Ruthie represented the good that we all need every day in our lives.

Ruthie is preceded in death by her father, Vernon Lee Eitel. She is survived by her three children, Nikolai (and his wife, Macy), Gabriella, and Anthony Book; her parents, Linda and Thomas Wright; her sisters and brother Pamela Kelley, Chris Eitel, Elizabeth A. Steers, and LeeAnn Price; cousins, aunts and uncles,  nieces and nephews, and countless friends and lives Ruthie touched throughout her life.

Ruthie loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and surrounded by light.

The family would like to thank Dr. Szabo and the entire staff at Emory Hospital for their compassionate treatment and care.

There will be a Celebration of life will be on Monday, July 25 at 11 am at St. Peter’s Place Anglican  Church of Roswell, Georgia to honor her.

Rest, dear Ruthie, and well done!
