Joseph Lamar “Rambo” Simpson, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on June 27, 2026.

Lamar was preceded in death by his mother, Anne “Marie” Watkins of Kennesaw, Georgia, and his father, Richard Simpson of Kennesaw, Georgia.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 18 years, Deanna Simpson, and his children: Tyler (Ashley) Simpson, Jackson Young, Joey (Casey) Simpson, Chase (Hayleigh) Simpson, Nicholas (Brandi) Williams, Destiny (Shane) Simpson, and Cheyenne (Bailey) Simpson. He also leaves behind 13. beloved grandchildren, who were among the greatest joys of his life, (Aiden, Landon, Greyson ,Dakota, Celeste, Jessie,  Gage, Ez, Emma, Grace, Reese, Abel, Harlyn.)

Lamar was the kind of man who believed in showing up—for his family, his friends, and anyone who needed him. If he wasn’t out on his motorcycle making memories with Deanna, you could almost always find him cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines, spending time in the garage working on his race truck, or making sure everything around him was taken care of. He took pride in working with his hands, providing for those he loved, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

Lamar was also an active member of the PUBG gaming community. Whether he was teaming up with his friends, his boys, or his grandsons, he loved every minute of it. He was known for his competitive spirit and was always quick to remind everyone that he was still the best player in the squad.(Even when it came to playing against his son Chase) Those game nights were filled with laughter, friendly competition, and memories that his family and friends will forever cherish.

Known to many as “Rambo,” Lamar was a respected and active member of the motorcycle community. He participated in countless rides, especially those that supported others or brought people together for a meaningful cause. Whether it was a benefit ride, a memorial ride, or simply an opportunity to spend time with fellow riders, Lamar was always willing to be there. His generosity, loyalty, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Above all else, Lamar’s greatest legacy is the love he had for his family. He was a dedicated husband, a proud father, an incredibly loving Pawpaw, and a loyal friend. His strength, steady presence, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
