Lena “Lee” (Gemos) Moylan

Lena “Lee” (Gemos) Moylan, 86, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on September 27, 2024, surrounded by family. She was the loving wife and best friend of William “Bill” Moylan for 52 years, who preceded her in death in 2014.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Efthemios and Sultana (Economou) Gemos.

Lee received her education in the Lowell Public Schools. After graduating, she attended Fisher College in Boston, Massachusetts, and later worked for the Raytheon Corporation.

After marriage, Lee and Bill settled in Nashua, New Hampshire, where Lee created a beautiful home, raised her family, and cherished family traditions. She loved to entertain and organized many wonderful dinner parties, luncheons, and birthday celebrations for family and friends. Neighbors were always welcome to stop in for a little gossip, a cup of coffee, or a glass of wine. Lee and Bill always worked as a team, and everyone was welcome in their home.

Lee and Bill relocated to Georgia in 1985 and started a new phase of their life. Traveling was a favorite activity for both of them, and they took several trips around the United States, Canada, and Europe. Lee was also an avid reader, enjoyed antiquing, and loved to decorate. She will be remembered as a thoughtful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Lee is survived by her daughter, Sarah Discordia, of Conyers, GA; her daughter, Tracey O’Malley (Mike O’Malley), of Bishop, GA; her three beloved grandchildren, Samantha (Discordia) Hellerman (Michael Hellerman), Anthony Discordia (Hope Discordia), and Anna O’Malley; three beloved great-grandchildren, Evan, Brady, and Karson; her sister-in-law, Susan Gemos; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A private service will be held at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA. Gifts in memory of Lena Moylan may be made to St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church, 3761 Mars Hill Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677 (770) 725-5035.
