Linda Lee Cozart

Linda Lee Cozart (Mitchell), 89, passed away on December 12, 2023, in Rome, Georgia. Linda was born on October 5, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Carl and Peggy Mitchell. She met her husband, Floyd Douglas Cozart in San Diego and they married in Hong Kong on November 28, 1957.

Doug was the light of her life, serving with him in Korea, Vietnam, and Singapore. (Taken from Linda’s Biography of her husband, The World Was His Parish). Linda and Doug dedicated their lives to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, serving many communities around the world.

Linda and Doug worked tirelessly with many organizations including The Navigators, Billy Graham Crusade, World Vision, Campus Crusade for Christ, and the Haggai Institute. Linda was known for her coordination of events from small gatherings to Ruth Meyers’ Women’s Conferences in Singapore.

Linda didn’t mind lending her hand wherever needed whether she was leading a Lady’s Bible Study, to cooking for the masses while living in Saigon at the World Vision 6 BR guest house. Guests included Corrie Ten Boom, Oral Roberts, the Palermo Brothers, Dr Bob Pierce to mention a few.

She was a compassionate and dedicated minister of the gospel. Linda and Doug’s last missions included teaching a Couple’s Sunday School class at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville and served as a counselor.

Linda was a former tennis Champion winning 88 trophy titles worldwide in California, Oregon, and the National Junior Doubles in Philadelphia. She was the first to capture the title of the TRIPLE CROWN TENNIS TOURNAMENT in Hong Kong IN 1957. A secretary, she moved to Hong Kong in 1956 to work for David Morken, Missionary-evangelist.

She is survived by her children, Debbie and her husband Darrel Pressley, Daniel and his wife Debra Cozart,  Lori Sanders, six grandchildren, Zach and Rachel Coombe, Mia and Madison Cozart, Joshua and Caleb Sanders, and 5 great-grandchildren.  Linda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister, Betsy Mitchell.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 19th at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Cartersville from 12:30-1:30 with a graveside service at 2 PM at Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital
