Linda Susan McNamara age 73 of Acworth, GA passed away at home on 2/7/2023, after a long illness, with loving family by her side. Linda was born 11/17/49 in Elyria, OH and then moved to Cleveland, OH, where she was raised. She was the youngest of three daughters born to Lorraine and Frank Bailey.
Linda loved spending time with her family. During her childhood, she was an excellent student and loved to play in the Ohio snow. She exceled in acrobatics, tap, and ballet. Linda moved to GA in her 30’s to be with her two sisters and their families. Linda was kind, loving, generous, and hard-working. She worked as an accountant for many years. Linda loved animals, especially cats, and volunteered at Good Mews Animal Foundation for many years. She loved to cruise to the Caribbean, take beach trips to the Alabama gulf coast, and visit the mountains of Blue Ridge, GA. Linda was an excellent cook and often prepared her special stuffing for the family’s Thanksgiving dinners.
Linda married Thomas McNamara after he returned from Germany after his time in the army during the Vietnam war. They have one daughter, Kelly Marie, who was also Linda’s best friend. Linda is survived by her husband of 52 ½ years, Tom McNamara, her daughter Kelly McNamara, and two sisters (Barbara Dacar and Patricia Borowski), along with nieces and nephews.
Linda chose to be cremated. Per her request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in memory of Linda be made to Good Mews Animal Foundation (www.goodmews.org).
