Lisa Miale Yenowine, age 67, passed away on July 30, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on December 26, 1957, in Portsmouth, VA, Lisa lived a fulfilling life shaped by her experience as a Navy child. Among her fondest memories were her years living in the South of France, Fort Totten, and Charleston. She later graduated from Radford University and went on to become a Proposal/Business Development Manager in the defense industry until she moved from Fairfax, VA, to Acworth, GA, where she chose to devote herself entirely to raising her children. She would later return to Virginia, where she enjoyed working as a home stager and designing beautiful gift baskets. She returned to the Acworth area in 2008.
Lisa was a dedicated volunteer at the schools her children attended and brought joy to many through her love of reading, designing beautiful spaces, coloring, playing games, and spending time with those she cherished. She was so proud of her son’s service in the United States Marine Corps and her daughter’s dedication to her students. Lisa reveled in the spirit of Christmas, meticulous with every decoration while rocking out to her favorite holiday tunes. She was known for the attention and care she gave every single gift she ever gave for any occasion, even the wrapping. A longtime member of her beloved Bunko group and a proud part of her “dock family” on Lake Allatoona and the Potomac River, Lisa found joy in community. She especially loved traveling to the British Virgin Islands — or anywhere with the clear blue water of the Caribbean — and taking off-roading trips through the mountains of Tennessee. Her beautiful smile and the spark she brought to every gathering made her someone people were drawn to. She especially loved being around her people. But above all, she loved being “Mimi” to her grandson — a role she treasured beyond measure.
She is survived by her loving husband, David; her children, Kevin David Yenowine (Cassi) and Blair Alexandra Yenowine; her adored grandson, Jackson; her sister, Victoria Miale Luzader; nieces Kathryn Victoria Luzader, Ashley Miale (Bryan McAlister), Lexie Miale Hensley (Matt), Emily Yenowine, and Kristy Raydon; great-niece, Abigail Elizabeth Dabbs; in-laws Mark Yenowine, Chrissy Yenowine, and Angela Miale; and countless friends and chosen family members who were touched by her warmth.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Captain Robert and Susan Miale; her brother, Robert Miale Jr.; and her nephew, Robert Miale III; brother in-law Robert Luzader; other extended family and friends she loved, and the dogs she embraced throughout her life — most recently, and (in)famously, Jillie.
A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on August 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Full Life Church, 2510 E Cherokee Dr, Woodstock, GA 30188. A gathering will follow at Suite Six Venue, 147 Reinhardt College Pkwy Suite 6, Canton, GA 30114. We would love for everyone to wear Lisa’s favorite colors, blue and/or green, even if it just a splash or accent.
