Lloyd Hildreth, Sr. of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026. He was born January 27, 1927, in Enterprise, Alabama, one of nine children of Mae and Jessie Hildreth. He was reared by Minnie and Marvin Brackin, his aunt and uncle. He attended Enterprise schools where he played varsity football. During high school, he took flying lessons and obtained his private flying license certification. After graduation in 1945, he served in the Army Air Corps at Keesler Field, MS and overseas in Okinawa, Japan. Lloyd graduated from Auburn University with an Aeronautical Administration degree. He married Anne Grace of Ozark, AL in 1949. Lloyd worked in accounting at Ft. Rucker, Alabama and later at Lockheed Aeronautics in Quality Control and Computer Programming. He retired from Lockheed after 40 dedicated years of service.Lloyd was a member of Marietta First United Methodist Church, YMCA Indian Guides, Junior Jaycees, Marietta City Schools PTAs, and the Marietta Citizens Advisory Committee. He played competitive ALTA tennis and continued playing tennis until his late 80s. Lloyd enjoyed many years of fun and relaxation at the beach with his lively group of close friends.Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Anne, son Marvin, parents, uncle Marvin and aunt Minnie, brothers Ben, James, and Max, and sisters Elaine, Doris, Bettye and Joann. He is survived by son Lloyd Hildreth, Jr. (Traci) of Panama City, FL, daughter Bridget Altolaguirre (Martin) of Alpharetta, GA, daughter Sharon Farley (Bill) of Chattanooga, TN, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.According to Lloyd and Anne’s wishes, their ashes will be buried in a private family service in Enterprise, AL. Those wishing may make a memorial gift in his memory to Marietta First United Methodist Church.
