Pamela Lasha Smith, born on November 21, 1973, in Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on June 7, 2026, in her hometown of Cartersville. Her life was marked by a quiet strength and a genuine warmth that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Pamela dedicated much of her career to working as a retail clerk at local convenience stores, where she was well known for greeting every guest with a warm welcome and a sincere smile. She had an innate ability to make people feel comfortable and valued, embodying a peaceful presence that reflected her thoughtful and reserved nature.
She was truly a Daddy’s girl, sharing a special bond with her father, Jerry Thacker, who fondly nicknamed her "Sassy Mae" and brought laughter into her life with his playful teasing. Those who knew Pamela well understood how much this relationship meant to her and how it shaped the joyful and spirited person she was.
Beyond her professional and familial roles, Pamela’s love for life was evident in her simple yet heartfelt passions. She was an excellent cook renowned locally for having the best meatloaf in town, a skill she cherished and often shared with those around her. Pamela also had a deep affection for animals, a love most clearly demonstrated through her companion, her miniature Chihuahua named Little Baby. Her enduring love of milk, a seemingly small but endearing quirk, is remembered fondly by those close to her.
Pamela leaves behind her loving family: her father, Jerry Thacker, and mother, Angela Williams; her daughter, Kayla Smith; her beloved grandchildren, including Trey; her siblings, Gina Walker, Gerica Thacker, and Dustin Ferguson (Angela); as well as her niece, Taylor Posey, and nephew, Dustin Ferguson Jr. She also leaves behind her treasured fur baby, Little Baby, whose companionship was a source of great comfort and joy.
Throughout her life, Pamela lived with a quiet dignity and savor for each moment, embracing life on her own terms while remaining a peaceful soul who preferred to keep to herself. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and gentle strength—a lasting memory for all who had the privilege to know her.
As we remember Pamela Lasha Smith, we honor a woman who touched hearts not with grand gestures but with the simple kindness, the warmth of her smile, and the enduring love she carried for her family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories shared and the love that binds her family together.
