Paul Wayne Thompkins, Sr. 

Paul was born September 19, 1950 in Brundidge, Alabama and passed away July 1, 2025, following a lengthy battle with COPD and emphysema in Acworth, GA 

He was predeceased by his mother, Rosa Lee Pearson Thompkins; his father, Ralph Rodney Thompkins; his sister, Joyce Juanita Russell and his brother; David Thompkins. Paul is survived by his life partner, Robin Shaughnessy Johnson, his son, Paul Wayne Thompkins, II and Peri O'Neil, daughter, Paula Elizabeth Thompkins Kicklighter and Paul Kicklighter, two grandsons, Cash and Lincoln Kicklighter, sisters, Mary Nell Thompkins Lewis and Margaret Thompkins Tondee, brother, Billy Thompkins and several nephews and nieces.

Paul proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era in Germany. He spent most of his career employed as a long haul truck driver.

He was a member and chaplain of the Blaine Masonic Lodge #534, a member of the eastern Stars of Jasper, Ga. The Royal Arch and Council, The Scottish Rite and was a past Commander of the American Legion Post #82 in Ellijay, Ga.

Paul's Celebration of Life is set for August 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, 3385 Mars Hill Road, Acworth, GA 30101.
