Peter “Pete” Hefele, age 72, passed away on March 27, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1953, in Germany, and came to the United States at the age of two. Pete became a proud American citizen at just six years old—a moment that shaped a lifetime of deep patriotism and love for his country.
Pete was known for his strong character, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His life was guided by a deep appreciation for freedom and community, and he carried that spirit into everything he did.
An avid motorcyclist, Pete found joy, purpose, and connection on the open road. He was a proud member of several Goldwing, sidecar, and Triumph motorcycle groups, as well as the Patriot Guard Riders, where he honored and supported veterans and their families. Pete was also a passionate supporter of Ride for Kids, always eager to contribute to causes that made a difference.
Pete had a special gift for mentoring new riders. He was patient, encouraging, and always willing to share his knowledge, helping others gain confidence and experience the freedom of riding. The friendships he built through the motorcycle community were many, and the impact he made will not be forgotten.
Above all, Pete will be remembered for the love he shared with his devoted partner, Debra Ogle. Their relationship was filled with companionship, care, and countless cherished moments. He is also survived by his daughter, Heidi Karlson, of Acworth, GA.
Pete’s legacy is one of kindness, patriotism, and a life well lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for Pete will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in the chapel of Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 South Main St., Acworth, GA. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with the funeral service to immediately follow.
