Robert John Reinhardt

Robert John Reinhardt of Acworth, GA was reunited with his Heavenly Father on June 11th, 2023.

Known as Bob to most, Rocky to some & Dad to the luckiest two; Robert was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February the 5th. The youngest of eight, Robert was raised by his parents Walter and Marietta (née Dionne) Reinhardt in Milwaukee and grew of age in the constant company of his brothers, sisters and ever-so troublesome nieces and nephews. He was deeply involved in the church from a young age and shared his mother’s deep reverence for the Catholic Faith & her traditions.

Starting at cornerback in high school, Robert helped lead his varsity squad to two city championships, and he was also elected Homecoming King his senior year. After graduation, Robert volunteered to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He actively served his country from 1974 to 1977, being honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. After his time in the Corps, he embarked on a 34-year career with IBM, which brought him many unique places. One such place was Brazil, and this required him to become conversational in Portuguese far too well in middle age.

Robert was deeply involved in charitable work and philanthropy and was proud to be a Rotarian. He was also a fixture in the local youth sports community, even before his sons were born. Robert refereed both football and basketball at the varsity level for many years in the Greater Metro-Atlanta community.

He will be missed, in part, for his generosity, his sense of humor, his encyclopedic sports knowledge, but not so much for his culinary skills. Robert loved many things, including golf, the Green Bay Packers, and growing his hair out in retirement: but the thing he loved most was not a thing at all, but was rather his sons, Alphonse Michael & Richard Todd. All who knew Robert knew how much he loved his children.

Robert is survived by his wife of 33 years Patricia (Brennan) Reinhardt, two sons Alphonse Michael Reinhardt of Kennesaw and Richard Todd Reinhardt of Atlanta.

He is further survived by siblings Dawn Nowak, Rosemary (Dale) Margraf and Michael (Debbie) Reinhardt. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Robert joins in heaven his parents Walter and Marietta Reinhardt, mother-and father-in–law Alphonse and Elenor Brennan, his siblings Walter and Richard Reinhardt, sisters Ruth Ann Schutz, Patricia Lou Steinbauer, brother in-laws Kenneth Nowak, Peter Schutz, Raymond Sr. Steinbauer, along with other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:30 PM on Wednesday June 21st, 2023, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (1618 Ben King Road in Kennesaw, GA).

In lieu of flowers his family requests to donate in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
