Robert Emmette Kelly

Oct 2, 1944 — Jul 4, 2026

Kennesaw, GA

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Robert Emmett Kelly, who entered eternal rest on July 4, 2026, at the age of 81. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, mentor, faithful servant of Christ, and loyal friend, Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Born on October 2, 1944, Bob was raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he developed the strong work ethic, infectious personality, and genuine love for people that would define his life. Beginning his career as a salesman, he eventually found his true calling in the food and beverage industry, owning and operating several neighborhood restaurants and pubs. More than successful businesses, they became gathering places where strangers became friends and everyone was made to feel like family. Bob never met a stranger, and his warmth, humor, and generous spirit made him a beloved fixture in every community he served.

Above all, Bob loved the Lord. His faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life and the source of his strength, guiding the way he loved, served, and encouraged others. He believed deeply in God's grace and sought every opportunity to share hope with those who were hurting.

Out of that calling, Bob founded Helping One Guy, a ministry dedicated to walking alongside men during life's most difficult trials. Through his compassion, wisdom, and willingness to simply show up, he reminded countless men that they were never alone and that God's love could be found even in life's hardest seasons. The ministry became one of his greatest passions and a lasting reflection of his servant's heart.

Bob's greatest earthly joy was his family. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Jane Kelly; his children, Tracey (Jon) Russell, Scott (Courtney) Kelly, and Timothy (Beth) Kelly; his beloved sister, Maureen Coleman; and his treasured grandchildren, Sloan Burt, Keegan Burt, Kade Kelly, Rennen Kelly, and Harper Grace Kelly. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will forever hold his memory close.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Emmett Kelly and Mildred Kelly, whose love and guidance helped shape the remarkable man he became.

Bob was a lifelong sports enthusiast whose passion for baseball was legendary. Braves fans fondly remember him as "Brother Francis," the spirited mascot who brought joy and laughter to games throughout the 1980s. Whether coaching young athletes from Little League through the collegiate level, cheering from the sidelines, or passionately rooting for his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Bob believed sports were about far more than winning. They were an opportunity to teach integrity, perseverance, teamwork, and character.

Those who knew Bob will remember his contagious laugh, quick wit, generous heart, and extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Whether sharing a meal, watching a ballgame, offering words of encouragement, or praying with someone in need, Bob lived each day with purpose and an open heart. His life reflected Christ's love through humble service, genuine kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and community.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Northstar Church, Blue Springs Road, Kennesaw, Georgia. Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the service at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Helping One Guy, continuing the ministry Bob so lovingly founded to support and encourage men facing life's challenges.

While our hearts grieve his absence, we rejoice in the assurance that Bob is now in the presence of his Savior, hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." His legacy will live on through the family he cherished, the lives he touched, the ministry he created, and the countless people who experienced the love of Christ through him. His life was one of purpose, faith, generosity, and joy—a life that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
