Romona Luberta Pruden, a beloved daughter, sister, niece and friend, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in Cartersville, Georgia. Born on October 26, 1967, in Norfolk, Virginia, Romona’s life was a luminous journey marked by creativity, dedication, and an unwavering warmth that touched all who knew her.
Romona was a woman of many talents and passions. She devoted part of her career to serving her community through her work at the Sheriff's Office, a role in which she demonstrated integrity and commitment. Alongside her public service, Romona’s creative spirit flourished as a freelance fashion designer and interior decorator. Her keen eye for design and her innovative approach left a lasting impression both in the fashion world and the homes she helped transform. Romona was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virgina and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Fashion Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she honed the skills that would define her professional life.
Those fortunate enough to be in Romona's presence remarked on the radiant energy she carried. She was often described as the brightest star in every room she entered, always greeting others with a smile that captured their hearts and lifted their spirits. Her warmth and kindness were constants in a world that often needs more light, making her loss profoundly felt by everyone she met.
Romona is survived by her cherished son, Marquel Pruden; her devoted parents, Vernon Pruden Sr. and Mary Pruden; her brothers, Vernon Pruden Jr. and Ronnie Pruden, along with Ronnie’s wife, Kaneshia. The family circle extends lovingly to her uncles, Linwood Pruden (Florence), Tyrone Walker (Sharon), Claude Lamb, and Michael Walker (Dia). Her aunt, Gale Lamb, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends also carry forward the legacy of her warmth and generosity.
Family, friends, and all who knew Romona are invited to honor her memory through a visitation and memorial service to be held on April 4, 2026, at Georgia Funeral Care, located at 4671 S. Main Street, Acworth, Georgia. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m., followed immediately by the memorial service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The community mourns the passing of Romona Luberta Pruden yet celebrates a life beautifully lived. Her spirit, encapsulated in her passionate work and heartfelt connections, remains a beacon of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a bright light that continues to shine in the hearts of her family and friends.
