Ronald Steve Collum

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Collum, who departed this life peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Ronald was born on March 8, 1946, in Marietta, Georgia. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, a lesson that would guide him throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves from January 1967 until September 1971, carrying with him a quiet sense of duty and patriotism that remained with him always.

After his military service, Ronald followed in his father's footsteps and became an electrician. Through dedication, determination, and countless hours of hard work, he built not only a successful career but a lasting legacy by founding Georgia Industrial, Electrical, and Mechanical, Inc. For nearly four decades, he poured his heart into the company, providing for his family while earning the trust and respect of everyone who knew him.

To know Ron was to know a man who never sat still for long. He had an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. His greatest passion was traveling the world in pursuit of unforgettable hunting experiences, each trip adding another story to the countless memories he loved to share. Of all the game he pursued, nothing captured his heart quite like the whitetail deer. Whether he was deep in the woods before sunrise or reminiscing about past adventures around the dinner table, Ron found joy in the beauty of nature and the thrill of the hunt.

Ron leaves behind his beloved wife, Kelly; his cherished daughter, Garam; and his son-in-law, Whitaker, who were by his side and held him close throughout his final days. Though they will miss him beyond words, they find comfort in the countless memories they shared and in the remarkable life he lived.

Ron taught those around him that life is meant to be lived fully-with hard work, courage, curiosity, and an open heart. His legacy is not only found in the business he built or the places he explored, but his dedication to his family.

Though our hearts are broken, we are profoundly grateful for the years we were blessed to share with him. We will carry his stories, his laughter, his wisdom, and his love with us always. His footprints may no longer mark the trails he loved, but his strong spirit will forever walk beside those who loved him.
