Scott R. DeVore

Scott R. DeVore, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. A man known for his sense of humor and kind heart. Born on November 13th, 1964 In Spartanburg, South Carolina. Passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2026 in Lindale, GA at the age of 61 from complications due to heart failure along with other health conditions. From birth he was born to be wild. He gave his parents a run for their money in the best way possible. Climbing out of any crib or playpen his parents put him in. In his school years he was smart but he often preferred to teach himself his school work. In his adult life he became a certified mechanic and HVAC heating & air. He loved knives, tools, fishing and fixing stuff. He loved the show judge Judy. He had many life adventures moving to many different places all the way from Virginia to California all the way back to Georgia. one of his most humorous moments were. When he had just become an amputee and we had a fire at our apartment. We were testing out the portable heater (it was winter) we had just brought. He lit a napkin to light the portable heater and it lit. He threw the napkin on the ground to stomp it out. Well he used his amputated leg to try to put it out. He was wondering why it wasn’t going out and he realised wait wrong leg. We laughed so hard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet Inez Kelley, father Bainard McGhee DeVore, and brother Glen DeVore. Scott is survived by his significant other Janet Marie Ely. His children: Desire Maria DeVore (CJ) Jenny Marie Elrod (Wesley),Thomas William Smith. 4 grandchildren: Anthony Collins, Lillie Elrod, Brooklynn Elrod, and Daniel Elrod. Brother: Jefferey DeVore. In laws Trish Ely, Ted James Sr. Nephews: Kelley Rickett, Ted James Jr, Austin James. Many more beloved family and friends.
