Tom was a beloved Dad, Grandpa, and community member. He had the unique ability to get along with anyone he met. He was kindhearted and always willing to help anyone who needed it. Born in Chicago to Robert and Betty Hannafin, he grew up in Mokena, Illinois. He attended Northern Illinois University, and built a long career in land development which brought him and his family to Michigan and later Georgia. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Laurie Hannafin, children Jamie (Brian) Troup and John (Amanda Day) Hannafin, grandsons, who brought him such joy, Victor Hannafin and Carter Troup, sisters Nancy Hannafin (Jeff Korleski) and Maribeth Knierim, nieces Kathryn and Clare Korleski, and nephews Austin (Kelly) and Max Knierim. And his trusty sidekick Maple.
Tom wished to be cremated. The family will have a private memorial gathering at a later date.
