In Loving Memory of Tim Anthony Blanchard May 16, 1953 – July 2, 2025 With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Tim Blanchard, affectionately known as “Bubs,” on July 2, 2025, at the age of 72.
Tim passed peacefully at home in the arms of his dear Millie and with his loyal Dachshund, Wrigley, in his lap. A proud veteran, devoted family man, and beloved friend, Tim leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service.
Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on May 16, 1953. Tim served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He then attended Valdosta State University, where he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He continued his life of dedication as a longtime employee of the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. His work ethic, resilience, and unwavering integrity defined every chapter of his life.
Tim was the heart and soul of his family, a loving husband of 50 wonderful years to MaLinda Blanchard, a devoted father to Tim (Allison) Blanchard II and Marcus (Cara) Blanchard, a second father to his beloved “lil” John Darsey and was a proud grandfather to Harley and Burton Blanchard. He was a dedicated dog dad to Wrigley, with whom he shared a very special bond, as well as an adoring grandfather to his seven grandpups.
Tim is survived by his siblings, Kim (Gary) Welscher, Todd Blanchard, Allison Bogdan, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Jeanne Blanchard.
Tim was known for his quick wit and endless supply of one-liners; he lit up every room he entered. His charismatic personality left a deep and lasting impact on the lives he touched. He was universally adored and will be deeply missed. Tim was everything a true American hero was made of. A passionate sports fan, Tim proudly cheered for the Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and the Los Angeles Rams, teams that brought him equally great joy and frustration.
Tim had a special place in his heart for animals, and there is no doubt he was warmly welcomed on the other side by the many beloved pets whom he loved throughout his life.
We mourn the loss of a remarkable man, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend. Tim's legacy will live on in the lives he touched and will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering dedication and compassionate care Tim received from his caregivers from Right At Home and Affinis Hospice. Their kindness and support meant the world to the Blanchard family and will always be remembered. May he rest in peace and may his memory forever be a blessing.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cherokee County Animal Shelter or the American Legion Post 316 South Cherokee County.
