Timothy Virgil Ray

Timothy Virgil Ray, lovingly known as “Timmy,” passed away surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him best. Born on October 20, 1960, Timmy was a devoted father, a hardworking man, a loving brother, and, above all, a man whose faith in Jesus Christ remained unwavering.

Timmy’s faith was not simply something he spoke about—it was a foundation of his life. He believed in Jesus and held firmly to his faith through every season of life. His relationship with the Lord gave him strength, hope, and peace, and his family takes comfort in knowing that his faith carried him home to the Savior he trusted.

Timmy was a man who believed in working hard and providing for the people he loved. He took great pride in being a father and cherished the time he spent with his children. Some of his favorite memories were made working on cars alongside them, teaching them what he knew, getting his hands dirty, and simply enjoying their time together. Those ordinary moments became extraordinary memories that his children will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Timmy also loved his Atlanta sports. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Whether watching a game, talking about his favorite teams, or simply spending time with family, he found joy in the things that brought people together.

Timmy is survived by his children, Chris Kazanchy, Randall Dussault, Kristina Powell, Justin Ray, Matt Ray, and Brittney Tyre, his sister, Lisa Gentry; and his brother, Jimmy Ray, along with extended family and friends who will deeply miss him.

Above all, Timmy will be remembered as a father who loved his children, a brother who loved his family, and a hardworking man who never stopped giving of himself. He leaves behind more than memories—he leaves behind the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the faith he held so firmly.

His family finds comfort in the promise of Scripture and in knowing that his faith in Jesus was steadfast. Though his earthly life has ended, the hope he placed in Christ remains.

Timmy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his children and family. Until we meet again, may he rest in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A celebration of life will be held Friday October 2nd, 2026 at 1:00pm at Georgia Funeral Care Acworth, Ga.
