William Alan Sparks

William Alan Sparks, age 63, of Bartow, Georgia, passed away on May 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Alan was a strong and bold man who lived life completely as himself and never changed who he was for anyone. Beneath his rugged mountain-man exterior was a deeply loving heart devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, and family. He loved fiercely, protected those he cared about, and made everyone around him feel safe and loved.

He leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, love, and unforgettable memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him forever.

Alan is survived by his loving wife, Joanie Sparks of Bartow, Georgia; his children: Angel Sparks of Bartow; Rebekah and Artemio Jarquin of Dallas, Rachel and Kien Stephens of Jasper, Jamie Sparks of Cobb; Matthew Daniel and Taylor Sparks of Ellijay, Jennifer and Gregory Tribou of Cobb, Keely Mitchell of Euharlee, Lexx Mitchell of Adairsville, and Atena Mitchell of Cartersville, Georgia.

He was a proud grandfather to Ian Sparks, Hailey Sparks, Analy Escuen (JJ), Emily Leal, Anthony Jarquin, Jazlyn Escuen, Gracie Sparks, Lorena Jarquin, Kinsley Sparks, Harlee Tribou, Miklan Escuen, Destiny Jarquin, Livy Tribou, Blazen Alan Sparks, Colt Sparks, Paisley Elrod, Zach Tribou, and Charlie Elrod.

Alan is also survived by his siblings, Kathy and Scott Reynolds, Janice and Troy Confer and Scott and Lisa priest.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jo Sparks; his father, Hugh Lee Priest; and his sister, Connie Brown.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Alan’s strength, love, and spirit will continue to guide and protect the family he cherished so deeply. He will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
