Thomas Wayne House

Thomas Wayne House, 78, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on October 14, 1945, to the late Roy House and Maxine Coleman. Tom is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons Thomas and Steven House; daughter, Christina House Robinson; brother, Tim House; as well as three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas, known affectionately as Tom, led a remarkable life marked by dedication, service, and love.

After proudly serving his country in Vietnam in the Army, Tom worked for many years at Fiat Allis Manufacturing and later as a contractor, owning his own home renovation business before working his final career years in civil engineering in the Air National Guard Reserves.

An avid golfer, Tom found joy and camaraderie on the green. He spent countless hours at Fox Creek and Legacy Golf Courses in Smyrna, GA, where he formed enduring friendships. Tom's proudest moments were watching his three children and three grandchildren grow into compassionate and successful individuals.

Tom was a beacon of kindness and empathy, always ready with a listening ear and a story to share. His unwavering belief in the power of compassion and simplicity touched the lives of all who knew him. He lived by the motto "Love Thy Neighbor" and demonstrated it through his actions every day.

In addition to his love for golf, Tom enjoyed the simple pleasures of country and southern gospel music. He cherished memories of global travels, especially his Hawaiian and Alaskan cruises celebrating significant anniversaries with his beloved wife, Shirley.

A devoted Christian and member of Mount Paran Church in Atlanta, Tom found solace and strength in his faith. He embraced the principle that the little things matter most and believed in the power of love, kindness, and generosity.

Above all, Tom cherished his wife of 57 years, Shirley, and their life together. His unconditional love and unwavering support knew no bounds. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Thomas Wayne House will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2:30 PM, in the chapel at Mt. Paran Church Central in Atlanta.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:30 PM at the church prior to the service.
