Charlie's GiveLove Fund Created at Georgia Funeral Care
On July 21, 2016, the Kimura family's life changed forever. Their precious young daughter Charlie died tradgically. Over the past year, the Kimura family has been healing from their loss by searching for a way to honor Charlie's life while finding a way to help others who lose children at a young age.
On July 21, 2017, the anniversary of Charlies death, the Kimura's held a fundraiser at a local CrossFit gym in honor of Charlie's life and raised $3600. On the morning of August 17, 2017, the Kimuras paid a visit to Georgia Funeral Care & Cremation to present Kevin, and his staff, a check for the $3600 and asked that we use this money to help families in financial need after the loss of a child. Georgia Funeral Care has now started the "Charlie's GiveLove Fund" to do just that! Georgia Funeral Care owner, Kevin Marcy said, "It was so nice to see the Kimura family and I was overwhelmed by their generosity. They could have used this money in so many ways, but they chose to honor us with this incredible gift. This money will be used to help families in financial need, not only for funeral expenses, but with many other possible expenses like flowers, travel, maybe even food or diapers for other children. The options are endless. I always knew that Charlie's death would somehow bring something positive to others."
