Patricia Glowacki Thaxton passed away peacefully in Atlanta, Georgia on September 22, 2017. Pat was born on June 8, 1944, in Jamaica, New York, to Clarence and Mildred Valentine Glowacki who, along with a sister, Linda Glowacki Goldsmith, preceded her in death. The family moved from Garden City, Long Island, to Augusta, Georgia, in 1960, where Pat attended Augusta College. She later earned a Certificate of Interior Design from Atlanta Area Tech and also a real estate license. She most recently worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Pat enjoyed serving her local communities and worked on Habitat for Humanity houses.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Thaxton Fogarty of Buford Gerogia, her son James E. Thaxton Ill (Trey) and wife Shannon of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and five grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan and Stephen Fogarty and Caroline and Emma Cate Thaxton. Family and friends meant everything to Pat. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hospice Atlanta and her loving friends that helped take care of her. A celebration of her life will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, Georgia, on September 29, 2017 at 2:30 in the afternoon.
